history of mafa

MAFA was established in 1859 and since then has continuously organised exhibitions of high quality contemporary art in Manchester and throughout the North West. Distinguished names associated with the society include: Ford Madox Brown; LS Lowry; Norman Adams and Anne Redpath.The society consists of mainly professional artists whose objective is to promote the work of its members and, in addition, other artists. We also run numerous workshops and talks for the community during our exhibitions.
